The Small Business Development Center, a partner with the Citrus County Commission, will host a workshop entitled “Human Resources 101” on Wednesday, June 15, at the College of Central Florida.
The Business Center is part of the Citrus Partnership with the county commission, the Citrus County Economic Development Council and the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce to help local businesses survive the current economic conditions, protect jobs and expand to create new jobs.
The workshop will include three speakers. First, attorney Jodi Zakaria will address the topic, “Overview on Legal Aspects (such as employment law and sexual harassment in relation to small businesses) and then Jacqueline Dohmen, owner of HR Solutions in Tandem, will speak on “Recruiting, Employee Policies and Procedures.”
Finally, Firm Administrator Tabatha Wells from Williams, McCranie, Wardlow & Cash, CPA, will speak on “Record Keeping and Personnel Files.”
The workshop is free for chamber and EDC members and for SBDC, SCORE and Workforce Connection Clients. The fee for others is $10. Reservations are required for all participants.
The program will run from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and will be held at the conference facility at the college’s Lecanto campus, which is located off County Road 491, just north of Grover Cleveland Boulevard and about four miles south of State Road 44.
