At 1:00 pm Tuesday Citrus County Fire was dispatched to 4529 W. Arsenio, Homosassa to attack a small brush fire that was threatening several structures.
Engine 181 from Sugarmill Woods was first to arrive on scene where they found a fast moving two acre brush fire in small neighborhood off Cardinal.
As additional units arrived from the Homosassa, Rock Crusher, Kensington, and Beverly Hills stations they were deployed to protect the structures in the area. As they began extinguishing the fire, units from the Division of Forestry arrived and deployed their tractor to cut a fire line around the area.
By the time the fire was out, about four acres were consumed and no structures were damaged. Units remained on scene for several hours to extinguish hot spots.
